One-on-one counseling and a free monthly support group for anyone walking through loss in Barrow County and surrounding areas.
Take the first stepGrief isn't a problem to solve. It's a season to walk through — with someone beside you.
Whether you're walking through the loss of a spouse, a parent, a child, a friend, a marriage, a job, or a future you'd imagined — it's heavy. And grief doesn't keep a schedule. It shows up in waves, on anniversaries, on ordinary Tuesday afternoons. You're not behind. You're not broken. And you don't have to do this alone.
Two ways to begin

Who you'll be walking with
Reverend Jeff Langley holds a Trauma & Grief Coaching certification through Light University in addition to 35+ years of pastoral counseling and board certification with the International Board of Christian Care.
He's walked alongside hundreds of families through loss — spouses, parents, children, sudden tragedies, slow declines. He knows grief doesn't move in straight lines. And he knows that being present matters more than having the right words.
Common questions
No. Grief doesn't have an expiration date. Sometimes the hardest waves come months or years after the loss — when other people have moved on and you're left with the silence. Whether your loss was last week or a decade ago, you're welcome here.
No. Many people come the first time (or the first several times) and just listen. Sitting in a room with others who understand can be its own kind of healing. You speak when, and if, you're ready.
Any of them. Death of a loved one, miscarriage or pregnancy loss, divorce, end of a long friendship, loss of a job, loss of health, loss of a future you'd planned for. Grief shows up in many forms and we don't rank them.
As long as you need. Some people come for a few sessions during the worst of it. Others come weekly for months, or check back during anniversaries. We don't measure success by how quickly you "move on" — we measure it by whether you have someone walking with you while you do the slow, sacred work of grief.
No. Our work is faith-grounded but we don't require anything of you. People grieving from any background, any faith (or none), are welcome here.
There's a set fee per session, due at the time of service. We don't accept insurance — here's why. If cost is a barrier, our sliding scale and Counseling Scholarship Fund (based on family size and income) are available on request. The monthly grief group is always free.
There's no right time to reach out. There's only your time. Send a short message and a real person will respond within 24 hours.
